It's 1867 and gold has just been discovered on the Coromandel Peninsula. Seventeen-year-old Jim has finished with his surveying work and is heading for the goldfields. He bumps into his little sister's friend Sally in Auckland. Disguised as a boy, she has run away from school and is determined to have an adventure before going home. Jim's plan fills her head with dreams of gold, and she convinces him to take her along to the gold field. Will sally's disguise hold up and will they find gold?
